In 2013, we made some big changes to the Bush Fellowship.
One of our objectives was to make sure we are getting the best and most diverse possible pool of applicants.
Between 2013 and 2017, applications have increased 378% to 639. Half of the applicants identify as People of Color and Native People.
We also wanted to make sure the process of applying was rewarding—no matter the outcome. Anonymous surveys of declined applicants suggest this is working!
We're proud of what we've accomplished over the past four years, and we'll keep working to make the experience better for everyone.
